Here are some questions I have been commonly asked about my wedding photography.
Can we meet up before the wedding?
Absolutely, before booking, I will meet you for a consultation where we will discuss your wedding plans and what you are looking for in terms of photography. If you don’t live locally or are planning a destination wedding to Edinburgh I am happy to chat over the phone or skype.
Will you visit our wedding ceremony or reception venue beforehand?
I have photographed in a huge range of wedding venues across Edinburgh and beyond. If I have never been to your venue before we can arrange a visit to your venue. I always like to visit venues I am working with before the wedding so that I can get an idea of why you love it and how to get the best from your images on the day. I like to be prepared as possible and work out the lighting conditions and the layout of the venue so I can plan out how I am going to approach your wedding come rain or shine!
You can see a list of some of the Edinburgh and Scottish wedding venues I have photographed on my links page here.
How far do you travel and how much does it cost?
I have a car and I am happy to drive to wherever you are getting married, or jump of a plane if you are planning a destination wedding! My package includes travel within 75 miles from my home in Edinburgh; we can discuss travel arrangements out with this distance.
How long will you spend photographing on the day?
My package is an all-day package covering up to 10 hours including bridal preparations through to the evening reception. I am happy to cover as much of your day as you want me there for.
Do you take formal images?
Yes, I am happy to take whatever formal images you want on the day. I take these as quickly as possible so you can get back to enjoying your day. I work in a mostly reportage style to capture the special moments of your day as well as your formal photos. I will also do a creative couple photo session with you lasting around 20-30 mins.
What camera equipment do you use?
I use high quality Canon digital cameras including Canon 5D MK4, MK3 & MK2 as well as Canon and Sigma lenses for all my weddings. I always bring 2 Camera bodies, around 6 lenses and 2 flashes so I am always prepared and have backups!
How many images will I get from my wedding day?
I normally take between 2000-3000 images per wedding depending on the length of coverage you choose on the day, from this I deliver arounf 450-600 images. You can see some examples of weddings over on my blog.
Do you provide high-resolution images and can I make prints?
Yes, you will receive a gallery of your final images and depending on your package a USB in a presentation case with all of your images both at high resolution.
You have copyright permission to use the images for personal use so you can make your own prints. I also have an e-commerce website from which you or your friends and family can buy prints.
What kind of editing do you do to the images?
I always try and get my images as perfect as possible on camera. I edit all images individually using professional retouching techniques including exposure, colour correction and natural skin retouching including removing of blemishes.
If you want more advanced or creative edits I am happy to discuss this with you.
Do you provide wedding books?
I offer 2 types of books at the moment. I offer a premium photo book as well as fine art albums. I am happy to discuss your exact requirements with you.
What is a pre-wedding shoot and do you offer this?
A pre-wedding or engagement shoot takes place before your wedding. It gives you a chance to feel relaxed in front of the camera before your wedding. We will spend 2-3 hours on location taking images. These are great to frame around your home, use as an invitation or on a guestbook for your wedding day. If you are interested in doing this please let me know. You can view some of my engagement and pre-wedding shoot images here.
Do you do post-wedding, rock the dress or boudoir style shoots?
Yes, I have a background in boudoir, burlesque and fashion images. Boudoir images are a great wedding gift for your husband to be and post wedding shoots are a great excuse to wear your dress again and have some beautiful images taken. You can see an example of a boudoir shoot here and some examples of a post wedding shoot can be found here.
