Hello, I’m Loraine. I am a wedding photographer based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I live in the Shore area of Leith and am currently renovating my first flat! I have a background in Fine Art having studied at Edinburgh College of Art and a BSc in Web Design and Development which gives me a great foundation for being a photographer in the digital age.  I have 12 years experience as a commercial photographer (I’ve photographed music festivals, burlesque, boudoir, fashion and corporate photography) and I have been photographing weddings since 2010. I have captured weddings for over 200 couples which is pretty amazing and special.

To me photography is all about telling a story, capturing the emotion of weddings and creating memories. We are all so special, unique and each couple I work with has a different story and I always end up with a tear in my eye during the ceremony and speeches.

I have a huge soft spot for anything vintage, DIY, elopements, Edinburgh architecture, old buildings, gorgeous flowers, old records, film noir, Harry Potter (I’m a Hufflepuff!), anything glittery and much much more! I have a quirky duck egg blue mini one and love to drive to unique and remote locations across Scotland as well as all the stunning venues in my gorgeous historic home of Edinburgh.

I love capturing the emotion and special moments…

I like to work in a relaxed, creative documentary style veering away from traditional posed wedding photography. I work without flash where possible making the use of available light to capture the emotion and mood of the day. Whilst I still take the traditional ‘formal’ shots of your family, the special moments and reactions from you and your guests are just as important as well as all the little details you spent time creating for your day.

We will spend around 30 mins taking some creative couple shots for you to remember your day by – these would make great canvas prints for your wall or thank you cards to give to your guests. I will normally take these later in the day during the ‘golden hour’ when the light is at its best. In this digital era I believe that wedding books are even more important than ever and I like to provide a wedding book for all my couples which will be the first heirloom for your family. With a background in design and fine art as well as live music, events and fashion photography I bring this influence into the way I photograph, edit and design my wedding albums.
